The Boston Bandits Opened their 2012 season with a 29-0 victory at home against the Metro-West Colonials. The Bandits would score first when QB Will Johnson connected with Darryl Hodge on a 41 yard pass. The extra point was wide left. The Bandits added two scores in the second quarter when Johnson connected with Omar Phillip on a 31 yard catch and run combination. Jadiem Brooks’ 2 point run put the score at 14-0. The Bandits had a punt return for a touchdown called back, however, they would up the lead when Brooks found the endzone on a one yard carry. Jeff Similien’s PAT made it 21-0. The Bandits dropped a touchdown pass on the final play of the half. A safety in the fourth quarter placed the score at 23-0 before Ty Brooks’ second interception of the night was returned 100 yards for a touchdown to end the scoring at 29-0. The Bandit defense put up the goose egg, holding off the Colonials twice in the fourth quarter after turnovers gave them great scoring opportunities.
