Bearcats Defeat Bandits in regular season finale.
Thursday, 13 October 2011

The Bandits traveled to Bridgeport, CT to play the 2010 NEFL defending Champion CT Bearcats. The Bandits held the Bearcats on their first possession, however, a questionable penalty on the punt gave the Bearcats the ball back in Bandit territory. Rich Snowden took advantage, completing a long lpass for a touchdown. The Bandits would answer behind a weaving run by JT Harrold, however, the extra point failed leaving the score at 7-6. The Bandits would appear to pick up a fumble later and return it for a touchdown, however, an inadvertent whistle stopped the return and the Bandits were not able to convert points from the turnover. The Bearcats tried to punch in another score before the half, but were denied three time and with 2 seconds left, converting a short field goal instead and a 10-6 half time lead. (more to follow)

Bandits Shut Out Colonials
Wednesday, 28 September 2011

The Bandits (8-1) defeated the Metro-West Colonials in the final regular season game by the score of 38-0. The Bandits scored on their second play of the game after the Defense stopped the Colonials' first drive.  Mike Murray found Dave Racca for a 29yd touchdown pass. The Bandits' defense, who would harrass the Colonial's rotating QB's all night, forced a 3 and out and Darryl Hodge took their punt 50 yards for a touchdown. The Bandit defense would force a fumble and saw multiple Bandits try to pick up the loose ball before Fitz Lee forced the safety and a 15-0 first quarter lead. Daryl Barnes would score from 10 yards out and Javon Turner made a nice catch from Murray from 26 yards, placing the Bandits up 29-0 at the half. Jeff Similien connected on a 28yd FG (he also converted 3 PATs) in the third quarter. The Bandits closed out the scoring when Fitz Lee fielded a short FG attempt in the wanning seconds, and took the ball the furthest possible, 109 yards for a score and a 38-0 final.

Next up for the Bandits are the 8-1 CT Bearcats on Sat. Oct. 1 st at 8PM at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport, CT.
