The Boston Bandits rallied to defeat the New England Hawks in their season opener 18-14 at English High School. The Bandits opened the scoring on their first drive when Bandit rookie JT Harold split the Hawks' defense en route to a 20 yard TD run. A bad snap thwarted the PAT, leaving the score at 6-0. Another poor snap doomed a late 2nd quarter FG attempt.  The Bandit defense would not allow the Hawks to get on track during the first half, however, the Hawks struck quickly in the second half on their second play, a 65 yard TD reception from Mazonne to Miselis and a 7-6 advantage. The Hawks continued to soar when they immediately intercept a pass for a 30 INT TD return, upping their lead to 14-6. QB Marcus Juba bounced back as he connected a 40 yard TD pass to Bandit rookie WR Daryl Sweet . The failed 2pt play left the score at 14-12. The Bandit defense kept the Hawks at bay until they could re-capture the lead when Bandit rookie Fitz Lee ran back a punt 85 yards for a TD and also intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to seal the win at 18-14. The Bandits next travel to Worcester, July 25th at 6:30PM.
